A more local target

The federal campaign finance trial of former U.S. Sen., vice presidential and presidential candidate John Edwards is going on just down the interstate in Greensboro. Of course the national media is all over it. It’s a good story and he’s a target-rich character for scorn, commentary and jokes.

Here’s an editorial cartoon posted this week by Pat Bagley, a fairly liberal artist for the Salt Lake City Tribune. Guilty or not, Edwards has strong detractors on both sides of the political spectrum. Memo to politicians: Don’t cheat on your wife when she’s stricken with cancer — or any other time for that matter.
