Remembering the Titanic’s 100th, Part II

How newspapers in 1912 covered the Titanic is a fascinating glimpse into how journalism evolved — covering events magnified by pop culture and celebrity. It also changed the way newspapers covered disasters. I’ll post more on that subject later today.

For now, though, check out some famous front pages about the sinking of the Titanic, which occurred 100 years ago today. The Newseum compiled a good number. Some I had seen before. But many I had not, including this one from the Atlanta Constitution. The headline is striking. The band indeed played on and this is what they played.
